A recap of...
Alien Isolation
In the year 2137, fifteen years after the events of the original Alien film, Amanda Ripley, the daughter of Ellen Ripley, discovers that the flight recorder from her mother's ship, the Nostromo, has been found. The recorder was recovered by the salvage vessel Anesidora and is currently stored aboard Sevastopol, a space station operated by the Seegson Corporation. The station orbits the gas giant KG-348 in the Zeta Reticuli system. Christopher Samuels, an android working for Weyland-Yutani, invites Amanda to join the retrieval team, offering her a chance to uncover the truth about her mother’s disappearance.
Amanda, Samuels, and Weyland-Yutani executive Nina Taylor travel to Sevastopol aboard the courier ship Torrens. Upon arrival, they find the station severely damaged and its communications systems offline. During an attempt to board the station via spacewalk, their EVA line is severed by debris, leaving Amanda separated from the others and forced to enter Sevastopol alone. Inside, she retrieves the Nostromo's flight recorder, only to discover its data has been corrupted. She also learns that the station is in chaos, with a deadly alien creature stalking its inhabitants.
After reuniting with Samuels and Taylor, Amanda encounters Marshal Waits and his deputy Ricardo, who provide more context. Waits explains that the alien arrived on the station after Anesidora's captain, Henry Marlow, salvaged the Nostromo's flight recorder and traced its path back to LV-426. There, he found an alien derelict containing a nest of eggs. When Marlow's wife was attacked by a Facehugger, he brought her to Sevastopol for treatment. However, she succumbed when a Chestburster emerged, leading to Marlow’s imprisonment by Waits.
To eliminate the alien, Waits devises a plan to trap it in a remote module of the station and eject it into space. Amanda successfully executes the plan, but Waits betrays her, ejecting the module with her still inside. Hurtling toward KG-348, Amanda uses a space suit to jump back to Sevastopol.
Upon her return, Amanda learns that the station's service androids have suddenly turned hostile, killing the remaining crew, including Waits. Samuels attempts to disable the station's AI, APOLLO, but is killed by its security measures after opening a path for Amanda to access the core. Inside, Amanda discovers that Seegson had been negotiating to sell Sevastopol to Weyland-Yutani. The corporation ordered APOLLO to safeguard the alien at all costs. Although Amanda informs the AI that the creature is no longer aboard, it refuses to stop its operations, citing reactor anomalies.
Amanda investigates the reactor and uncovers an alien nest with numerous creatures. She initiates a reactor purge, destroying the nest and its inhabitants. Later, she discovers that Taylor was secretly sent by Weyland-Yutani to recover the alien. Taylor frees Marlow in exchange for the coordinates of LV-426, but he betrays her and takes her hostage aboard the Anesidora.
On the Anesidora, Amanda finds the Nostromo’s flight recorder, which contains a personal message from her mother, finally giving her closure. Meanwhile, Marlow attempts to destroy Sevastopol by overloading the Anesidora's fusion reactor to ensure no alien survives. Taylor kills Marlow to prevent the catastrophe but dies herself due to an electrical discharge. Amanda escapes just before the Anesidora explodes, damaging Sevastopol’s orbital stabilizers and sending the station drifting toward KG-348.
Amanda and Ricardo manage to contact the Torrens for extraction. However, Ricardo is attacked by a Facehugger, forcing Amanda to leave him behind. After helping the Torrens detach from the station, Amanda finds herself surrounded by aliens but is thrown into the Torrens by a blast. Onboard, she discovers another alien has infiltrated the ship. Cornered in the airlock, Amanda ejects herself and the alien into space. Floating adrift in her suit, Amanda is eventually awakened by the beam of a searchlight.
